Just Run! is a contemporary tale of chivalry set in the outskirts of Madrid. It is the story of a boy who witnesses how his brother will die for the sake of the woman he loves.
Madrid, summer 1999. The school is over, the weather is warm, the girls are pretty, the world is full of wonders. Milio is thirteen. He wants to grow up to be just like his elder brother Luis: strong and handsome, admired by women, feared by men. But Luis is trying to turn his back on the laws of the barrio, he wants to be a man, not a hero. Will they let him?
Eventually forced to confront his past, pressed by all to stand up to his destiny, Luis gives a last fight for all those he loves. When the summer ends, Milio is not a child anymore.

Saura Medrano is the son of the well known director Carlos Saura and university professor and Doctor in Film Studies Adela Medrano. He has been working in the film world since adolescence.
When he was only 18, producer Elias Querejeta offered him to segments of the feature film Los primeros metros. Even though his work won general acclaim, Saura Medrano was dissatisfied with the result and went into a long creative silence.
In the meantime, he quickly became one of Spains most prestigious assistant directors and second units director, closely working with his father Carlos Saura on the films Carmen, El Amor Brujo, Eldorado, Marathon, Sevillanas, Flamenco, Taxi, Pajarico and Tango among others. Oscar awarded director of photography Vittorio Storaro said of him: He is the best Ive ever worked with. He combines technical knowledge with a keen sensibility and capacity of organization. From 1987 to 1991, Saura Medrano also produced and directed documentaries (The Making of Carmen, EdenPastora Dreamer and Revolutionary, etc.), and advertisement campaigns fo major commercial companies as well as government institutions (Coca-Cola, V Centenario, Fujitsu, etc....). Saura Medrano is also an outstanding photographer.
Obsessed with perfection, reluctant to compromise, Saura Medrano has finally found the story he wanted to direct twenty years after his directorial debut.

At the beginning, you run because you are young, sometimes you get to run for your life, and sometimes, there comes a time when you do not want to run anymore. Why? Other things turn out to be more important. JUST RUN! Takes place in the street of a Madrid barrio and it can happen anywhere. It is a film about a simple questions: how do you become a man? Why do some of us get trapped in the process? It is a film about emotions, about yearning, about love and friendship and brotherhood. It is alive with the beat of a new Latin music with lyrics in Spanish, Mexican, Catalan, and even Italien. It is funny and it is sad. And I think that we come out of it slightly more alive.
