Vitus is a boy who almost seems to be from another planet: He has hearing like a bat, he plays piano like a virtuoso and studies encyclopaedias at the age of five. No wonder his parents begin to anticipate a brilliant future for him. They want Vitus to become a pianist. However, the little genius prefers to play in his eccentric grandfather’s workshop. He dreams of flying and of a normal childhood. Ultimately, with one dramatic leap, Vitus takes control of his own life...

FREDI M. MURER, born in 1940, works as film maker and producer and made a wide range of films among them Zones (1972), Full Moon (1998) and Downtown Switzerland (2004). Murer received numerous national and international awards, including a Golden Leopard in Locarno for Alpine Fire (1985).
Cast Biography
While having performed on the most famous European stages BRUNO GANZ, born 1941 in Switzerland, starred in international movies such as Oliver Hirschbiegel’s Downfall (2004), Eric Till’s Luther (2003), Silvio Soldini’s Pane e Tulpiani (2000), Wim Wender’s The Sky Above Berlin (1987) Volker Schlöndorff’s Circle of Deceit (1981).
TEO GHEORGHIU, born 1992 in Switzerland, speaks five languages and started playing the piano at the age of nine. He studies at the famous Purcell School London for musically gifted children.
